Many thanks to Hilda Downer for including one of my poems, “Surt’s Fire,” in her recently released anthology, Had I a Dove: Appalachian Poets on the Helene Flood, published by Redhawk Publications, a press in Hickory, North Carolina. On October 25, Blacksburg Books hosted a reading to celebrate the book’s release. Since proceeds from the sale of the anthology go to help those affected by the flood, I bought seven copies, one for myself and six for friends and neighbors. The book’s full of excellent poems!
