I’ll be attending the Appalachian Studies Association Conference this year in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Dr. Cynthia Burack, who co-edits the SUNY Series in Queer Politics and Cultures, will be moderating a panel, “Queer and Here,” on March 9th from 10:30 till 11:45 am. I’ll be a panelist, along with Julia Watts, with whom I co-edited 2019’s LGBTQ Fiction and Poetry from Appalachia, and Dr. Allison Carey, who recently published Doubly Erased: LGBTQ Literature in Appalachia. I’m looking forward to checking out that area of the North Carolina mountains and feasting on whatever culinary delights might be found.
