This March, I attended the Saints and Sinners Literary Festival for the first time since 2018. Accompanying me were my husband, John Ross, and my old friend, Cynthia Burack. On Friday the 28th, the three of us had a grand time at the Audubon Zoo, followed by some tasty food at Galatoire’s. On Saturday the 29th, after brunch at Antoine’s, Cynthia and I joined my co-editor Julia Watts on a panel, “LGBTQ in Appalachia.” Dinner that night at Desire Oyster Bar was top-notch, but the obnoxious Bourbon Street noise was worse than ever. On Sunday the 30th, I read a few poems from Loving Mountains, Loving Men on one panel and spoke about my historical fiction on another, “Finding Your Muse in LGBTQ History and Culture.” John, Cynthia, and I shared dinner on Sunday at the Court of Two Sisters with several Beautiful Dreamer Press authors, thanks to the considerable generosity of BDP publisher, Louis Flint Ceci. Thanks much, Mr. Ceci!
A wonderful conference in a time of troubles. Thanks to Jeff Mann, John Ross, Julia Watts, Paul Willis, Louis Flint Ceci, and many others.
